Frequently Asked Questions
I tried to find and write a review on your heat packs but this is all I could find. I have had chronic pain for many years after breast cancer surgery and other operations and your heat packs have been a lifesaver for me, I literally over the years have lost count how many I have used because I use them daily sometimes two at a time. I could not do without them to help me through the day, I recommend them all the time to anyone experiencing pain or discomfort that I know, have been meaning to write to say thanks for awhile now , do not know what I would do without your heat packs , thank you Tamara
Great site, I got confused by sections for comments and asking questions. So I have gone to your comment spot to tell my experience then ask my question:) I recently helped make 6 lupine heat packs for my 13 yr old. granddaughters craft party. One of her friends doesn’t have a microwave to heat it. Can her parents use the similar method to heat with half cup of water in a conventional oven for 15- 25 mins at about 150 degrees? I look forward to your reply. I trust your company, and use yo
Hi Sandi, Yes you can use an oven but not at that sort of temperature. I wuld do at a lower heat 80 degrees for a shorter period of time just to be careful as the products will burn if in too long. There is not need to put water in the oven when heating. Hope this info is helpful and thanks for your kind words. Warm regards, Brett.
What is Lupin?
The yellow legume seeds of lupins, commonly called lupin beans, were popular with the Romans, who spread the plant's cultivation throughout the Roman Empire. Lupin or Lupini Beans are yellow legume seeds of the lupinus genus plant, and were once a common food of the Mediterranean basin and Latin America.
Hi,how long in microwave
hi Peter, BEst to initially heat in shorter intervals (30 seconds) and then give a shake and reheat if not hot enough. Once you have an idea about how strong your microwave is you can heat for longer. Just dont want to burn the lupins initially. Please call if you have any questions. Warm regards, Brett.
Does Lupin have an odour ?
All seed tend to have an odour when heated up. Lupin can have a slight smell of popcorn.
How do I wash my Lupin Bag?
Sponge your lupin bag lightly with luke warm water to remove surface marks, being careful not to saturate product. Hang up to dry as soon as possible. When cover is dry, rub lupin bag briskly between your hands to ensure grains are dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not immerse.
What's the difference between Lupin and Wheat?
While wheat is the traditional filler for a heat bag, we have found that lupin is lighter and maintains its heat longer than wheat, thus giving you a longer lasting product. Through our lab testing we have found that our lupin heat bags stay warmer for longer than traditional wheat bags. Our lupin heat packs are also 30% lighter than traditional wheat heat bags which means less pressure on your body.
How long do i heat my lupin pack for?
We recommend that you initially just heat for periods of 30 seconds, checking the product each time and flipping it over. Once you have tried this a few times you can put it on for longer periods until you get to your required heat. It is important not to heat for too long in the one position at the start as each microwave has different amounts of power and heating rates. Lupin are a natural product and like any natural product will damage if heated to long.
what is the size of both the body pillows and how does the large pillow fit into a microwave
The size of the lupin medium body pillow is 40cm x 19cm and the large is 56cm x 23cm. I am not sure why they dropped off the website but thanks for letting me know and they have now been put back on. Warm regards Brett Parnham.

I suffer from leg cramps, mainly down the front of my shins. I have found heat is the best way of relieving them, however my heatpacks of late have all sprouted weavels. Is your filling likely to do the same? If not why?
I cant recall anyone ever having an issue with weavils with our lupin seed. It is quite a dry seed so perhaps that is the reason? I really dont think it would be an issue. You could also store bag in the plastic sealable case that it comes in if you are concerned. Hope this information helps and happy to chat further if you require. Warm regards, Brett 03 8585 6685
