Inner: Do not immerse in water. Dab clean with a solution of warm water and mild detergent. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat away from direct sunlight.
Dura-fab Cover: Woven polyester. It is a super-soft easy-clean washable fabric that comes in a pleasant dark grey color that blends nicely with any decor. Dura-fab is a serviceable material that repels most soiling.
Steri-Plus Cover: It resists moisture, and is easily cleaned by wiping down with mild detergent warm water, and hung to dry. Wipe stains using a non-phenolic disinfectant in a diluted solution. Do not bleach. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry. Do not iron.

Does this help sciatica pain? And sitting in the car and for long periods?
I would probably recommend the coccyx wedge as a general support cushion that should give good support including tilting the pelvis a little and providing relief for the coccyx at the same time.
Is the coccyx wedge made of memory foam?
The coccyx wedge is not a memory foam product. However, the diffuser coccyx cushion is memory foam if that is your preference. Both are good products, but it just depends if you are looking for pure comfort (the diffuser coccyx is best) or to sit on an angle and improve your posture where the wedge is the best.
Is this product goof for pelvis pain?
The coccyx wedge is also good so I would go with whatever you think is best. It will help with your posture which may be more beneficial than the diffuser coccyx which will be more comfortable under the buttocks.
What is the difference between the Coccyx Wedge Tailbone Cushion and the Diffuser Coccyx Cushion?
The coccyx wedge cushion is a little bit firmer and will place you on an angle which will help you with your posture and building core strength while sitting. The diffuser coccyx cushion is more comfortable but is a flat surface so will not give the same postural benefits.
Supportive products for travelling in the car?
I would recommend the coccyx wedge cushion. It should relieve pressure from the tailbone area and make travel more comfortable.
Why is the Coccyx sometimes called the tailbone?
The human coccyx is often considered a vestigial remnant of a tail - so the coccyx is often referred to as the tailbone.
What does Coccyx mean?
The word coccyx comes from the Greek word kkkux for cuckoo and Latinised it as coccyx. The name was derived from the tailbone's shape, which early anatomists thought it resembled a cuckoo's beak. The coccyx is the end of the spine. The human coccyx is composed of 3-5 individual segments the coccygeal vertebrae. (In 80% of people, the coccyx is made up of 4 coccygeal vertebrae).
What is coccydynia?
Pain in the area of the coccyx (tailbone) is called coccydynia or coccygodynia (or sometimes a variety of other spellings). Coccydynia can be anything from discomfort to acute pain, varying between people and varying with time in any individual. The name describes a pattern of symptoms (pain brought on or aggravated by sitting), so it is really a collection of conditions which can have different causes and need different treatments. Coccydynia can follow falls, childbirth, repetitive strain or surgery. In some cases the cause is unknown. The pain can disappear by itself or with treatment, or it can continue for years, and may get worse. It is five times more common in women than men, probably because the female pelvis leaves the coccyx more exposed.
Does the steri plus fabric cause sweating?
The coccyx cushion may cause some sweating under you bottom as the cover is waterproof and does not breathe as much as the dura fab cover. The steri cover is designed to be hospital grade and easily wiped down if being used by different people. If product is just for you I would definitely recommend the dura fab cover which is the more preferred of the two coccyx wedge covers.
Is the above wedge also made in memory foam?
No, the coccyx wedge is not made of memory foam as it would tend to collapse too much and would not work the way it is supposed to. The diffuser coccyx does contain memory foam and works very well but it is a fair bit bigger than the wedge. It is very well suited to everywhere except for car seats.
What is the height / thickness of the wedge at the back?
The wedge is 7cm at the back and goes down to about 2cm at the front.
Will this cushion assist with tailbone not touching the ground?
We have two products that should both be suitable and both will stop your mums coccyx from touching the ground. They are the coccyx diffuser cushion - most comfortable and very supportive. and the coccyx wedge which will tilt the pelvis for better posture and support. For indoor go for the dura fab cover and for outdoor probably the steri plus cover as easier to maintain. We ship daily to the US and normally will be dispatched within 3-5 business days.
Is the Steri-Plus cover washable?
It is washable but just hand washable. There will be instructions on the tag inside the zipper that are very easy to follow. Just clean with warm water in mild detergent and then hang to dry.
What is the depth of cushion?
The cushion is 42cms across x 40 cm x 2.6 (thinnest side) and 7cms high (thickest side).
What colour are the different covers on this cushion?
You can either have a greenish colour in the steri plus which is the waterproof version or the suede version is in Charcoal which is the most popular and is called dura fab.
Can this be used in a lounge chair?
Yes, certainly.
Is this cushion recommended for pilonidal sinus issues?
The Coccyx wedge and the Coccyx cushion should provide some relief. The cushion is memory foam and softer whilst the wedge is quite firm and encourages better posture.
What is the difference between dura fab and steri plus cover?
Simple difference is the steri plus is waterproof but unless that is required then we always tend to recommend the dura fab which is a suede material.
Is this wedge suitable to use after hip replacement surgery?
The posture wedge should help but I dont think you require the coccyx wedge. Please consult your doctor though to make sure the angle the posture wedge puts you on will be correct angle just to be sure.
Is your Coccyx Wedge chair cushion available in Memory Foam?
No, the wedge is not available in the memory foam as we think it would be too thin. We do however do the coccyx diffuser which is in memory foam albeit a bit thicker.
Is the memory foam stabilised with a stronger layer of foam?
Yes, there is a firmer layer of foam inside the product in the middle and this will assist with giving the product extra support as well as comfort for the coccyx area.
Is this cushion okay for overweight / heavier people?
Our Thera Med Bariatric Coccyx cushion may be an option. It is a much firmer cushion designed for larger frames. There are two sizes, 50 x 45 x 10cms and 56 x 45 x 10cms
Is this suitable for someone sitting all day?
I think the product should work very well for the coccyx relief but perhaps might be a good idea to mix it up between the two products if pressure sores area concern. The coccyx wedge is a medium density foam so should be comfortable enough but it is of a certain hardness to maintain its shape and integrity for coccyx relief which is its primary function.
Is this a soft cushion? Does it collapse?
It is quite a firm cushion so will not collapse at all. Designed to give the coccyx relief and comfortable enough for the rest of the bottom.
Is the Steri-Plus cover removable for cleaning?
Yes, cover can be removed for cleaning but is also easy to wipe down the steri plus as it is water proof.
Difference between the coccyx diffuser & wedge cushion? Is it because of the memory foam?
Yes, the diffuser is a memory foam and in my opinion is a more comfortable product. The wedge is slightly firmer but does have the advantage of being better for your posture by tilting your pelvis and making you sit more upright.
